This 782-acre white cedar swamp located on City in the north of Appleton offers eight miles of trails and a variety of woodland species including, pileated woodpeckers, yellow-bellied sapsuckers, warblers, cranes, hawks, owls, and falcons. Visitors enjoy passive recreation such as walking or jogging, bird watching, wildlife watching on rustic woodland and meadow trails. A wide variety of common Wisconsin wildlife species are present in the cedar swamp, ponds, meadows and forest. Cross-country ski trails are maintained in the winter and skis are rented. Snowshoe trails are open for snowshoeing or hiking. In total, there are 8.5 miles of trails open to the public.
The nature center building is open Tues-Fri 8am-4:30pm, Sat 11am-4:30pm, & Sun 12:30-4:30pm.
