A 500-acre wildlife sanctuary with wooded glacial hills, three clear lakes, old-growth forest, prairie, and northern bogs. Common species include Bald Eagles, Sandhill Cranes, Loons, Green Herons, Great Blue Herons, many warblers, songbirds, raptors and grouse. Paid, naturalist-guided hikes can be scheduled. See nesting osprey and loons as well as many other species. A variety of hands on programs teach visitors about geology, plant life, and wildlife.
The summer season always finds Hunt Hill alive with wildlife. Paddle quietly through calm waters while you search the shores for our nesting osprey and loon, or the concealed lodges of beaver and elusive otter. Hike your trails and boardwalks to discover the world of carnivorous plants on floating bog or the varieties of wildflowers in our prairie. Center open daily, 9am-5pm.
