High Cliff State Park overlooks Lake Winnebago on its northeast shoreline. High above the water, a massive memorial statue of Red Bird, chief of the Winnebagos, stands guard over the lake. The mountain bike path that runs the length of the cliffs takes its name from this historic figure.
If the intent of the ride is to get out and do some climbing, ride back down to the main lot and come back up on the road, a killer climb that takes you from the lakeshore to the top of the bluff over the course of a mile.
