Train Excursions At Fennimore Railroad Historical Society Museum

The exterior of the museum is graced by a 1907 Davenport 2-6-0 locomotive next to a water tank with two spouts. A marker explains the history of this unique, narrow-gauge railroad.

A miniatures 15-inch gauge train gives rides on weekends, 10am-4pm. An operational 15" gauge rail with 700 feet of track sits south of the railroad museum with scale buildings that allow visitors to ride the rails. Inside the museum, a model railroad layout is a replica of Fennimore at the turn of the century.
Similar in general appearance and size to the original narrow gauge Dinky, a 1907 Davenport 2-6-0 locomotive was obtained through the efforts of the members of the Fennimore Railroad Historical Society.
The Dinky and tender now reside on the museum grounds. Visit this delightful railroad museum and visit with friendly folks who will help bring this charming part of history alive. Museum displays artifacts of the narrow-gauge era, 1878-1926. Open Mem Day-Labor Day 10am-4pm; Sept & Oct weekends only. The museum features many home appliances and tools from the 1900 era so the museum is of interest to both males and females.
