The East Troy Electric Railroad runs from East Troy to Mukwonago in southeast Wisconsin. Step back in time and enjoy a 10-mile round-trip trolley ride on Wisconsin's landmark electric railroad. Operates Wed-Fri June 27-Aug 24, 2001, as well as weekends and holidays Mem. Day-Oct. Trains depart at 11:30am, 1, 2:30 & 4pm. Dinner trains and private excursions available. Located in southeast Wisconsin just off I-43 & Hwy 20.
Train Excursions at METRA Commuter Railroad
Kenosha is the last stop on the northern leg of the Chicago/Northern Illinois METRA commuter railroad. The train drops passengers off within walking distance of Kenosha's historic districts, downtown area, Chicago's beautiful lakefront, museums, zoos, sporting events, shopslodging and restaurants. Closed Sundays. Pay for parking in the cafe. The 495-mile Metra system serves 230 stations in the counties of Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, McHenry and Kane.
Train Excursions at Kenosha Electric Streetcar System
Between 1903 and 1932, Kenosha's primary downtown transportation was an electric streetcar system. The city has re-installed a portion of that earlier streetcar line. Travel a 2-mile loop that includes the METRA Train Station, the Kenosha Public Museum and HarborPark. In addition to regular bus routes, city officials also added an electric street car system that runs through the development, linking it with nearby downtown Kenosha and rail service to Milwaukee and Chicago.
Train Excursions at Little Amerricka in Marshall, WI
A 1/3-size railroad operating both diesel and steam engines with proto-typical freight and passenger cars. More than 3 miles of track on the grounds. The location is also the home of Merrick Light Railway Equipment whose shops build 1/3-size rail equipment. Many midway and carnival rides on the grounds. Enjoy the beautiful fall scenery as you take the “Whiskey River Railway” to the Little Amerricka Pumpkin Patch.
