Sugar River State Bike Trail, Wisconsin (WI)
Anchored on the north by New Glarus, Wisconsin's "Little Switzerland," and on the south by Brodhead, this 23-mile route traces the gentle meanders of the Sugar River. The entire trail is part of the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail.

Nearby, New Glarus Woods State Park as well as numerous private campgrounds cater to camping bicyclists. Bikes may be rented at the historic New Glarus depot. The Sugar River State Trail connects four small communities: new Glarus, a village with a pronounced Swiss heritage; the villages of Monticello and Albany, which are primarily agricultural; and The City of Brodhead, with an economy of farming and small industry.
The Sugar River bicycle trail headquarters in New Glarus is staffed and offers trail passes, bicycle rental, bike trailers for children and access to car shuttle services.
